Pumpkin Pickin'

Okay, okay. Maybe I was in a huge rush to decorate our porch and didn't have the time patience to wait for Jeff to get off of work, so I bought a few from the grocery store. At least I had Paige with me, right?

So with the end of October quickly approaching (as in, less than a week away), we decided to take a quick trip to a pumpkin patch. Because memories and stuff. Oh, Paige was in love. She ran around picking up the tiny little pumpkins and the gourds while Jeff & I tried so hard to keep her from throwing them. I guess we didn't explain the difference between a pumpkin and a ball very well!

But, she found her favorite pumpkin and off we were! But we're not even close to being done with all of our Halloween activities. In fact, we're planning on taking her to a haunted house later this week. We're well aware that our parenting is 100% questionable.

(But mom, throwing pumpkins is fun!)

Autumn In the Mountains

Mine & Jeff's favorite season is autumn. Hands down. There's just something about the sort of warm, sort of cool weather with the different colored leaves that just makes us want to drive through canyons for hours. And then the gloomy days where it's perfectly acceptable to lay around in your sweats and drink hot chocolate. YES PLEASE.

In Utah, there are only about 3 weeks where the leaves are "changing". Because they will die with the  same speed as your avocados going bad. So after General Conference ended yesterday, we took full advantage of the canyon next to our house and went for a family drive. I got pretty discouraged with all the brown and dead leaves, until we found a cute little campground area with trees with pretty colors and a little creek with a waterfall. We ran around, threw leaves in Paige's face, watched the water, and (Paige) yelled at cows. We got caught in a lovely downpour, raced home with the gas light on in the car (whoops), and almost stepped into a swamp. But I'd say all in all, it's one of the best days we've ever had :)
